Standard & Poorʼs to review Hungary credit rating on Aug. 25

Ratings

International credit ratings agency Standard & Poorʼs is scheduled to review Hungaryʼs sovereign credit rating on August 25. This will be the second and last scheduled sovereign credit rating review of Hungary by S&P in 2017, state news wire MTI reported today.

Standard & Poorʼs affirmed Hungaryʼs BBB-/A-3 long-term credit rating and stable outlook on February 24.

Fitch Ratings affirmed Hungaryʼs sovereign rating at ʼBBB-ʼ, just over the investment grade threshold, with stable outlook in a scheduled review in May this year, while Moodyʼs Investors Service declined to update Hungaryʼs Baa3 rating with stable outlook either in March or July.

Fitch has scheduled its next review of Hungaryʼs rating for November 10, and Moodyʼs for October 20.

The three rating agencies raised Hungaryʼs sovereign rating back to investment grade in 2016.
